This is the rabbi from the synagogue where I grew up. It’s 2025 and a group organizing an anti-Nazi rally disinvited a rabbi, a descendent of Holocaust survivors, as a speaker.

The silence of the non-Jewish social justice community in school psychology as Israeli hostages have been released is deafening. The cheering on of those who killed Israelis and took hostages has also been noted.

When u speak out against antisemitism when it comes from someone u hate but r quiet when it comes from someone u like, that’s performative allyship. Don’t b surprised when Jews like me notice this and don’t trust u. There r so many school psychs I used to really respect but now don’t trust at all.

MAGA’s typically only see me as Jewish and many on the left only see me as “white”. Neither perspective allows Jews to claim their own nuanced identity and both work to advance antisemitism, albeit in different ways.

Jews have been warning everyone about the rise of antisemitism and how that was bad not only for Jews, but for all who care about freedom, human rights, and safety for all.

If u r against Jew hatred, speak up no matter whether it comes from the political left or political right. If u only speak up when it comes from one side, that’s performative and not really about supporting Jews.

Reflecting on Rev/Dr Martin Luther Kings legacy today, it’s inspiring me to action!

This is an excellent point.

School psychology—as a field—could be leaders in addressing antisemitism in schools. Instead it has chosen to elevate antisemitic rhetoric. Working with colleagues, I aim to change that.
