Weekly #Audiodrama Update:
Im editing down some amazing performances to a 5 minute monologue and I feel like Frankenstein (the Doctor) making Frankenstein (the monologue).
I know its a good thing, but it still makes you question a little :D
10.07.2025 20:56 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I can relate a little bit.
But after taking an entire month of (with no shaming myself), its actually going well again. With big projects, you have to be careful not to burn out?
Though either way, you always learn skills that you can reapply, so even that "Instagram" thing isnt wasted!
From what I understand, Bluesky is best for Niches still, so dont worry too much - soo many of us are here, that oughta mean something :D
10.07.2025 09:55 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Weekly #Audiodrama Progress:
Spend an hour creating a soundspace. Love it. Return the next day. Completely redo it in ten minutes because its just not right in that one specific way but now you finally know what you want.
... This is gonna happen a lot, huh.
Due to chronic illness, I am gonna pretend I never set myself a timer.
I still intend to finish this and I hope to release this year. Just the "when" remains ambiguous.
See you then!
Tales from the #audiodrama recording studio:
"She isnt evil, she is just morally misaligned :)"
Writing #audiodrama is just an endless amount of "The script is finally, truthfully, for-real-this-time finished!", obviously followed by another rewrite.
02.03.2025 16:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Little introduction post:
Into the Frayed is a dark fantasy #audiodrama - the drama being the genre and your emotions being my payment.
Its told through letters, takes place over two and a half years, seven episodes and roughly 5 hours.
Into the Frayed releases in June 2025.
Small Update:
Since I both broke up with a longterm partner and am in the process of moving away, Im delaying "Into the Frayed" to June 2025!
The thought that I "need" to work on it has been really stressing me out and I want this to be my brainchild, not my burden.
See you then!π¦
The endless debate between "Do I listen to something new and exciting" or "Do I listen to the same #audiodrama that I listen to every year"
How is one to decide?
You can try a vacation at home and go to museums, parks, community events and such things. Its less about going someplace else and more about the "I dont have to work because im on vacation" mindset. Lock away your work stuff and just enjoy, you know?
07.01.2025 06:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Heres the bad news: A proper Burnout takes weeks to recover from.
But if you arent quite there yet, I would recommend taking a vacation of at least 8 Days. Set yourself a Budget, plan a bit, have fun. If you feel just as exhausted afterwards, please see a therapist!
Honestly, you just sound like you have burnout. Which is valid.
When was the last time you actually took a break? Like... No Work, No project planning, being somewhere else, doing fun stuff? Maybe afterwards you'll have a clearer mind.
Nothing wrong with taking a break though!
The inherent need to make art is forever challenged by a foe beyond reason or reckon: Chores.
A thousand curses.
My Laptop, if its continous sirring through editing attempts is any indication.
30.12.2024 19:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I love my brain.
The moment I finish writing and start producing, Im thinking of new worlds and new stories.
Thank you, beloved brain soup. We have a project though. The slots are filled, commissions are clos... - Hey. Hey. Stop that.
(Dont worry, production isnt writing, we're going strong :P)
This shadow I actually find quite useful! I think the visual problem is more that clear lines are always better than padded ones - and any "Info" needs to be distinct from another. Maybe you could make the shadows less... Similar? More opaque or grey? A different "texture" even?
27.12.2024 00:08 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think it adds a lot of visual clutter - your "shaded" sides already give a good amount of distinction and make clear and precise lines.
It may also be because you only have one block elevation - what does it look like with two or three (when shadow would be "necessary")?
On one side, I understand that AI is a tool that can be used for many a thing, same as you could stab someone with a screwdriver. On the other hand, I dont want to listen to anything that couldnt be bothered to be made by humans.
Im sorry it had to happen to one of your favs!
[2/2] If this is the worst thing that happens during production, i'll gladly take it.
Lets hope none of the actually important files corrode. I'm already paranoid enough!
[1/2] Today, we lost two hours of recording time due to a technological error.
But dont worry. All the important communication wasnt entirely lost, due to the miracle saving medium called brain we both possess. Re-recording should flow fairly quickly.
I am not done with Season 1. Far from it. I never planned on a Season 2.
But I am *thinking* about it for some reason.
Dont know if this is hubris, warranted or just dumb.
Anyways, you'll find me in the writers room.
I feel that. Ive been writing and working on Into the Frayed so long and yet everytime someone sends me something Im reminded that I actually am *doing* this. The project just floats in a void and everytime it hits the edges of the TV, i remember.
19.12.2024 21:02 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I have never done this. Never.
Do not lool at my Tumblr or ask my VAs. They are lying.
I was really worried that we can only do asynch for a while - how it would affect quality, if it would be more effort for my VAs, if things got lost in translation - and in one singular recording, @delaylays.bsky.social made me believe it didnt matter.
I have an amazing cast. Absolutely blessed!

Oh yeah, absolutely. You have to stop at some point, give yourself a deadline. Otherwise you'll turn into Goethe and spend 30 years writing a questionable metaphor that - even after what amounts to be almost 11K days of it all - isnt finished.
Dont be Goethe.
