That is all for this update! I'm so excited that Kailani is back! Now I can start playing the parts of the story I've been planning since Poseidon was an infant. Next update Kailani will finally get to share some of what she has gone through. Sneak Peak:

She looks away, lost in thought as he waits as patiently as he can for her answer.

K: "I owe you an explanation. I know I do. Just not here, not now."

P: "M-Maybe my place, tomorrow?"

K: "Okay"

She then turned and walked away, leaving him to wonder if she really would show up.

P: "Kani, can we... why..."

Poseidon takes a moment to breathe. He wants to be able to finally ask the question that has haunted him for years without scaring her away.

P: "Can you tell me what happened? Why you stopped talking to me? Why you wanted to run away tonight?"

Kailani whips around to look at him.

K: "What?"

P: "I moved into a place up on Mua Pel'am a few days ago."

K: "You chose to live in volcano house?"

P: "Ha! Why does everyone say that?"

K: "Because you live next to a volcano."

P: "I guess that's fair."

P: "Thanks for stopping."

She is still for a moment with a nervous energy that he has never felt from her before.

K: "H-Hello"

P: "Hey"

K: "How long are you staying?"

P: "I actually moved here."

Poseidon gets to the top of the stairs just as Kailani reaches the bottom.

P: "Kailani! Please wait! I just want to talk!"

He rushes down the stairs and only relaxes when he notices her waiting at the bottom.

Kailani stares at him for a minute before turning and walking away.

P: "Kani wait!"

She does not acknowledge him as she quickly goes back down the stairs. For a moment, he considers letting her go, letting her walk away again. It's the thought of living in wonder that makes him go after her.

P: "H-Hey"

Kailani looks at him for a moment before her face morphs from confusion to what he can only describe as panic.

K: "Poseidon?"

P: "Yeah, h-how are you?"

He thought seeing her again would be harder, that it would just remind him of all of the pain. Instead, all he wants to do is run to her, to talk and ask questions. He just wants his best friend back.

Trying not to startle her, he walks quickly over to her.

Poseidon is starting to really feel relaxed when suddenly he sees her. It's been years and they've both grown up, but he would recognize her face anywhere. Kailani Kahale, his childhood best friend before she ghosted him. The reason he almost didn't move here.

Poseidon nervously walks to the festival alone, but immediately loves the calm and inviting atmosphere. He enjoys some of the wonderful food while sim watching by the bonfire, still too nervous to approach anyone.

K: "Mr. I-hate-crowds wants to go to a festival?"

P: "I don't know. I figure if I live here then I should get to know the culture."

K: "Fair, but it's not for me"

P: "Oh"

K: "You have fun though"

P: "Thanks for today"

K: "Anytime"

As the sun starts to set, they pack up their gear and head back toward the center of town.

P: "So I heard talk of a festival tonight."

K: "It's more of a gathering than a festival, but there's usually good food.

P: "Do you want to go?"

K: "What? The sim that lives alone, up in the mountain, doesn't like crowds. I'm so surprised."

Poseidon glances over at Kapua to see the smirk on his face.

P: "It's not that obvious."

K: "It is, but the Sand Bar is more chill than you think."

P: "I guess I'll try it at some point."

After a quick walk around the shops, Kapua leads them over to one of his favorite fishing spots.

K: "This spot and the Sand Bar are what make coming to town worth it."

P: "This is great, but I don't know about the bar."

K: "Not a fan of bars?"

P: "Crowds"

They get to the main island, suddenly hit with the wall of noise and sims.

K: "First rule of island living is to always avoid the public beaches. They're crowded and never better than our own beach."

P: "I'm remembering that now."

K: "Now I can show you which shops aren't going to rip you off."

P: "Hey! I know we just talked about that tour last night, but would you be interested in starting today?"

Kapua: "I could do it today. Where did you want to start?"

P: "I was hoping to get into town today."

K: "Ugh, I guess we can start there."
