Weird that we have to say this, but the government doesn’t get to decide what gender a person is.

My parents landed safely sometime after 1am.

Heard from them this morning—they had neighbors who stayed despite the evac order. Their neighborhood in Sierra Madre still stands.

OH: and my parents are actually now still not safely landed. We thought we found a hotel for them. It turns out we did not.

Likewise—glad to hear more folks are getting safely out, but also wow—power being impacted into Arcadia is a lot. Hope your mom is staying safe.
We just found a place for my folks to land—they stayed long enough it took three of us to find a hotel with a vacancy.

Never in my life have I been so thankful for location sharing.

This is the last thing my mother sent me this evening. Sierra Madre, CA. They’re being evacuated currently but this was the view from the north corner of their block. Concerned for their safety as they drive down the foothills tonight.

Learning in real-time how asset management and parenting are fully at odds with one another and holy wow it is shameful the speed with which my brain drops details the moment my kids make any demands.

Nothing quite like being forced to take days off because the kids have no school, but work is back on its grind already.

Last day of work before holiday break and I’m so caught up I’ve already completed all of my low-dopamine tasks.

As if it knew I needed to do *some* thing useful today, my helpful little phone auto-filed a bug first thing this morning.

It’s gonna be a long day.
