Me, suddenly seeing occasions to use emdashes everywhere: 😰

The weird thing about doing academic writing that isn’t for a specific class is that my ADHD can’t decide if this is a low dopamine slog or a hyperfixation.

“No no, I’m excited about this, really!” *promptly loses focus editing*

This needs a 3rd dimension to address context.
(Content radical, structure neutral, context purist & proud.)

Friend: “What are you doing?”

Me: “Writing out my paper by hand. It helps me slow down enough to spot issues in my writing and think carefully about the argument overall as I work.”

Friend: “Didn’t you say your paper was 15 pages?”

Me: 🥲 “yes”

Fair enough. It may also be the color. I color code a lot and my blue ones always run out first.

My novel has gotten exceedingly more political in its undertones over the past year but it does feel hard to keep pushing forwards with any sort of creative endeavor these days. Keep at it!

80% of important birthdays/anniversaries on my calendar are on or next to a U.S. holiday. I never had to memorize much; just check any wall calendar/computer/voice assistant for the matching holiday and boom. I know the date.

This has ruined me for the remaining 20%.

For reference, this is still keeping up the pace I have been for over a year, but I had so many "no writing" days in December, I thought my streak was finally broken. NOPE. It apparently came back with a vengeance.
