As a guy whose adult job is deeply corporate (not marketing). This is very true. The skills you develop leveraging ads and boosting CTRs, Impressions, Clicks, etc are more valuable than you think. You really are doing it live. Be proud of it!

Yeah I was getting stuck on Roman era naval combat and I wanted that medieval era feel which I don’t have a lot of grasp of. But this is giving me a hell of an idea, thank you friend!

Exactly! I have aspects of it in my current WIP and I started then it hit me that I don’t know how to write pirates outside of the norms😂

You also want to give the reader the gift of a new concept to chew on which I’m sure will make your book awesome!

Any other fantasy writers struggle to write boat related things? I find that if my civilizations exist outside of gunpowder then you don’t get cannons and what not. So no trad pirates?

I think it invites room for creativity but a challenge nonetheless!

I find that I love to write fantasy more than I like to read it.

I love to read history and biographies, which I actually think makes me a better writer tbh. If I’m getting out of those genres it’s usually Sci-Fi.

I think I’m a hybrid. I usually have all the characters fleshed out and build two or three in as I go. The main timeline is made but as I fall in love with new characters I branch off into subplots which are admittedly my favorites. This also could be a valid critique of my writing but idc lol.
