From our March Festival to more than a dozen year-round programs to additional accolades and partnerships, this has been a busy year filled with some incredible moments here at DCEFF.

Our 2025 lineup included archival, investigative, wildlife, & profile pieces exploring the important work of conservationists, journalists, activists, & communities on the frontlines of our planet's greatest challenges. Thank you to our filmmakers & film subjects for sharing their stories with us.

Before we close the book on 2025, we wanted to celebrate this year's Festival Selections one final time. These spectacular images are just some of those featured in those films and represent the ever-increasing strength and diversity of environmental storytelling.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 2025 programs! It's not controversial to say that this year brought some setbacks for the environment & for DC. That said, we have seen in you, our beautiful community, so much passion & resolve to continue the work that needs to be done. Onward to 2026!

We were very sad to learn about the passing of Dr. Iain Douglas Hamilton - legendary conservationist, Save the Elephants Founder, and subject of 2025 Festival Selection A LIFE AMONG ELEPHANTS.

His incredible story resonated so strongly with our audience. He leaves behind a truly monumental legacy.
