Sometimes I'm late because I sit like this for too long instead of getting ready.

A common coot standing on the shore of a suburban lake. The foreground is short grass and behind the bird is the blue water of the lake. The best part is their multi-coloured legs: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and grey. I'm hoping to get a clearer shot one day but the ones at our lake rarely come out of the water and when they do, they seem to keep to the long grass and run around like there's no tomorrow. Funny little creatures.

I meant to post this earlier when I saw Alan's (@alan678.bsky.social) alt theme of #Black&White. I've been trying to get a shot of these coots that shows their crazy looking, beautifully coloured dinosaur legs.
