Robot candy! Box almost over. These swiss bonbons are the excellent Maxon 32mm brushless motors with Hall sensors. We use them copiously in our robot. These are great for wrist and neck joints. Maxon is another top company supporting us since they day one!

At Catrike, my other company, we are getting ready for our open house. The sight of a bunch of Catrikes was too beautiful. Brad in the pic did a wonderful tuning. #cycling

Just got our new motor controllers in. This is the first motor controller I designed, from PCB to writing the firmware for speed, position, and torque controls. It works like a charm, thanks to ST support. We use over 20 of these in each robot; each joint gets one. It is already going in our robot!

30.12.2024 22:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Here is one of our precise alloy robotic joints and how we calibrate an RLS 18-bit absolute encoder with BISS-C communication protocol. You can see in the video that calibration improved accuracy to around +/-0.061 degrees!

A beautiful stainless, slim Cross Roller Bearing pressed into a brushed aluminum case. A hollow aircraft-grade output coupler allows for internal wiring and a sharp-looking robot.
