🔻Idea for BLU Rytsar: Blue Mage hired by Sharlayan to not just study the principles of Blue Magic but also to allow the research of monsters and such without the risks associated with them. In exchange he offers seminars, demonstrations, and eventual access to Labyrinthos.

🔻The last several times I had gotten grave misfortune. Finally things are looking up!

🔻I should mention that I haven't even decided on the Blue Mage part. Rytsar is a Dark Knight and is written as one for the sake of RP. But idk if it'd be a retcon or worth creating a retcon for the sake of flavor. Especially since Blue Magic is extremely contextual in XIV, as might be Beastmaster.

I suppose I could chalk this up as a #wolquestion or #wolqotd, what circumstances would have you alter a fundamental aspect of your WoL/OC? Plot relevance? Something retroactive under new context offered by the game? Or perhaps on a whim, or out of boredom!

🔻Would it be bad writing to change somebody's entire combat shtick with updates? Like I'm starting to really enjoy the idea of Blue Mage bounty hunter Rytsar. But also, if Beastmaster turns out right, would it be out of the question to suddenly suggest he has monster handling skills?

🔻So funny thing is my gf plays as a crafter primarily so we have it where her oc is so enamored by this enigma of a Hrothgar, she trails him and patches up his clothes while he repairs his armor and weapons. Try as he did to keep her away, he can't bring himself to be mean to her. They're dating.

🔻I was going to say that Rytsar is a good guy but he has a massive, icy chip on his shoulder. Buuuut if he had a friend that kept him in the right headspace, he'd certainly lighten up after a few adventures!

🔻I was so, SO convinced that we were getting that in Dawntrail with the clues and such we were getting beforehand. Not that I don't mind Viper but I was so hoping to get a pirate.

🔻Honestly if I could mix it up I'd have Rytsar use a lot of Blue Mage shenanigans but for the time being he's a swordsman whose upbringing had him exposed to technology at an early age, making him mechanically inclined. While any basic blade is good for him, he can just as easily use magitek.

🔻Rytsar would unravel because it would definitely require his lost queen telling him to forgive himself to actually do it. He is lost, and broken, and bitter, and so full of rage that even then it might take some convincing after how jaded he had become with life.
