Cheers to a great sense of humor!

Is this not defacement of government property? Back when I was in law enforcement, that was a crime. πŸ™„

What Democrats SHOULD Be Doing
Robert Reich What Democrats SHOULD Be Doing

Never before in living memory has it been as urgent for America to have a strong opposition party. Which is why it’s so important for Democrats to take the steps I lay out in this video.

And if there are Democrats who won’t β€” we need to replace them with those who will.

Yes. But I grew up with my staunchly republican family telling me how FDR was guilty of the β€œtake from the Haves to give to the lazy Have-Nots” doctrine, and they despised him for it. So it wasn’t new. I’d say the Reagan era was the resurgence of the Republican road to the disaster we now face.

Dem shutdown messaging should be:
1) "Donald Trump is willing to cancel flights at Thanksgiving and starve American citizens in order to deprive people of affordable health insurance"
2) "Donald is doing all this to cover up the Epstein Files"
3) "Donald controls all three branches of government."

Republican politicians in Trump's orbit...actually practice their Christian faith about as often as as I drop money in an offering plate in a chapel.

And this where Democrats should be directing most of our shouting, at the goddamn republicans. Of course they aren’t going to do what they should do or say they will do. They’re the GOP.

Oh, so that was the original β€œbig lie,” eh? β€œIf Obama thought of it, it’s a bad idea (even if it was our [GOP] idea in the first place).” Anyway, that sure made me miss Harry Reid. Publicly calling out republicans for being the (insert horrible descriptors here) they are.

Dem base that gave them a blue tsunami: DON'T CAVE

Majority of Dem elected officials: DON'T CAVE

The majority of Americans blame the GOP for the shutdown and higher costs...

8 Dem Centrists (and you better believe Schumer knows what's up): Nah, We'll cave.

I guarantee you calls came from donors.

Reminds me of the white moderates MLK warned about so many years ago.

Just useless.

Schumer is spreading the word he was against the deal. But he is the leader. So he either tacitly let it happen or he failed as a leader. No excuse works for him. This is a fail.

Looks to me like none of these senators has the slightest excuse for selling out ACA. Certainly not those retiring; and do the others really think they have to quake in their boots over reelection votes 2+ years away? Give me a break.

New: Sens. King, Shaheen, Hassan led negotiations on a deal that will have enough Democratic support to pass in the Senate, I'm told.

This is the package:

- CR thru Jan 30
- A vote on a ACA bill by a December, on a DEM bill
- Minibus WHICH INCLUDES reversal of shutdown RIFs and back pay and protections against them happening in the future
PLUS SNAP is funded through the fiscal year 26

Dems have spent the past two months saying they're fighting to address the crisis of spiking healthcare costs and now they're caving for a deal that does nothing to address healthcare costs Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―

Senators reach tentative deal to end the government shutdown The deal, negotiated by a group of Democrats and GOP leaders, funds the government through Jan. 30. If it passes, it will still need to clear the House, which will likely take days.

I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.
