Thanks! I'm hoping the new twists CD:ROM has goes along well with the things it's inspired by :>
And I've been thinking about it, but it's a bit too early for me to say for sure. Something fair would be ideal, of course!

A screenshot showing an example of the differences that enabling "Colorblind Assist" mode makes. Letters are shown over colored vials, and a color key to quantity cheatsheet is also displayed.
๐จ Colorblind assist has been added!
Difficulty in CE:ROM should *not* stem from struggling to figure out what color something is.
In cases where it still might be difficult, this option will definitively eliminate any ambiguity!

About a business week if all goes well, though I'll still be taking a little longer after that to incorporate some feedback and do some touch-ups.
Regardless it will almost certainly be Before The End of The Year. That seems like a 99.9% safe bet.

๐ข Good news, demo's under review!
Plus, announcing a small name tweak...
#indiedev #indiegame #gamedev #godot
XS is available on any difficulty!
I figure it'd be more fun to let people XS-chase even on lower difficulties, since not everyone will be interested in playing on the hardest difficulty.
...that being said, the ranks *are* tuned per-difficulty. A Cyberdoc XS is harder to get than a Relaxed XS!
A screenshot of three characters, with the center stating, "Time is burning. Let us skip the platitudes. I have brought two colleagues for you to meet."
Other things finished this week:
+ Separate scoring and rank criteria for each difficulty
+ Leaderboards are separated by difficulty, too
+ Novel choreography for 2-1 and 2-2. These two new episodes are basically done!
โญ Wishlist if you please~ โญ

โซ Difficulty selection has been added!
You can now freely choose between Relaxed, Standard, and CyberDoc.
But it's not just number tweaks! You might encounter fewer - or more! - things that go wrong during an operation.
Stay on your toes!

By default, the WASD keys are used to select tools. From testing it seems pretty natural so far (but there is an option to bind individual tools if desired)
The mouse uses tools, and as far as I can tell it also seems pretty natural-feeling. I'm looking into touch and tablet support as well.
In theory as long as whatever software is communicating with the hardware can translate it into keys and mouse-like inputs, it should work with the game!
30.07.2025 23:06 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0๐ Tool remapping is implemented!
Not only can you rebind your tool keys, you can now also reposition the tools themselves to your heart's content.
In other words... you can't use muscle memory as an excuse for fumbling your tools anymore ;>

โญ Happy Friday! Here are the major things I've added this week:
+ Score and time leaderboards, and a new UI to show them
+ A new patient and drapes sprite
+ Lungs and lung implant sprites
With those, Episode 2-1 is nearly complete!
Have a x2.0 good weekend!

๐ฏ Basic score and time leaderboards are done!
I'd like to add histograms, but that's something for later.

It's designed with mouse and KB in mind, but I'm planning to ensure peripherals like touchscreens and tablets work, too!
I've tried it with my art tablet and it mostly works already. So getting these alternate control methods 100% supported looks pretty promising.
Go ahead :)
19.07.2025 01:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Oh yeah, for sure. I've made several other games as a hobby, so I get ya!
You can expect the quality of the demo to be practically as high as the quality of the full game. In fact, nearly all of the trailer's footage came from the working demo build!
Gotta make a good impression, after all~
Screenshot of Cutting Edge's level select screen, showing a Prologue option as well as five locked options.
The demo will feature ~5 full operations out of a planned total of 40+ from the full game.
The demo also includes the associated story, your progress should carry over later on, and I'm working on basic leaderboard support!
Thanks! Have a good weekend~
Screenshot of Cutting Edge. An anthro fennec and deer are in frame, and the fennec (Spark) is saying, "Well, I'm here! And we've got a dying patient, don't we? Actively dying."
Heyo! A quick Friday update about the overall status of Cutting Edge!
Uploading and testing an alpha demo build on Steam has gone well! I'll be tidying it up to put through the review process in the coming weeks.
I'd like to put something playable (and polished) in your hands ASAP!
Aah, thank you! I was hoping that they would sound alright!
18.07.2025 07:11 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's actually placeholder at the moment (under the OGA-BY 3.0 license, see link)!
I'm planning to hire a composer before the full release (perhaps even the same composer as the placeholder song - it really is a banger).
bsky.app/profile/wizb...
I appreciate the concern, and there's no need to be alarmed!
The song is used under the OGA-BY 3.0 license, and it's credited at the end of the trailer. Here is their page, too!

Once the game is further along, I would love to hire help to compose original music!
It's just me doing all the dev! I'm not a veterinarian, but I've been doing a fair bit of anatomy research ๐
(Though for the actual vets/healthcare workers out there, I'm more than happy to hear about y'all's actual experiences and viewpoints from being in the field!)
The "Master's Blessing" meme by artist Diana Franco of a knight kneeling and offering a sword to a spiritual entity. The knight is labeled "FURRY INDIE DEV" and has its studio logo on their head; the sword has capsule art from the "Cutting Edge" video game; and the entity is labeled "OPERATING SIM FANS".
18.07.2025 02:15 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Ahah, thanks!
And fair question!
I wanna make sure everything's properly set up before making that available. I wanna be fair and respectful, after all! ๐
Once it's up though, you can expect behind-the-scenes content and eventually early access to dev builds!
Basic dev logs will stay free tho!
Aaah! That was lightning fast! Looks awesome, thank you :D
17.07.2025 23:57 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0You could be! I'm not looking for VAs *just* yet... but eventually I'd like to at least have little blurbs here and there!
I'll keep you in mind for when the time comes :D
Aaah! Thanks for your overwhelming support, everyone! ๐
I'd reply to each of you, but I didn't want to spam! I had no idea THIS many people would be interested in my game!
To keep y'all up-to-date, I'll be posting devlogs as I develop the game! Posts are up already!

In theory there's nothing stopping one from doing this...
...that being said, I'll have to dig out my Wiimote sometime and give it a try. >:D
Hello, Tetarti...
But yes! I'll do my best to be colorblind-friendly!
In fact, if you scrub to 0:51 in the trailer, you'll see that the capsules differ not only by color, but also by the number of things sticking out of them. (Key to be added.)
I'll be sure to add labels to the syringe vials, too!
