Trans rights are civil rights. If you aren't willing to die on the hill of trans rights, then you aren't willing to die on the hill of Black rights. Of Jewish rights. Of disabled rights. Of gay rights. Of anyone's rights. Human rights.

No exceptions. If you use Gen A I in any capacity whatsoever, you suck.

Yes, the way you're using it too. You're not special.

Has anyone else noticed that many non-writers don't seem to have a sense that there is anything between "full time writer who writes for a living" and "total amateur who writes for funzies and never shares it with anyone" even though the middle makes up like...almost all writers?

I've taught many people new to gamedev from kids to adult, from a practical educator lens I believe the main difference people credit to kids learning faster or easier than adults is they aren't yet consciously trying to avoid temporarily looking like a beginner at something

I am begging Canadians to understand that Canada Post, like public transit, should not be a business - it's a service.

Canada Post is a lifeline for rural, remote and Northern communities and overall, we need to re-evaluate why people think they "need" random shit delivered ASAP.

You simply cannot make me spend my time on this stuff. Oh the president said Tylenol causes autism? Well it doesn't. No I'm not going to pore through research papers to prove it to you. That's not what my time is for. My time is for playing videogames and gazing lovingly at my wife.

I recently learned that my local Canadian library is connected to Hoopla! I had thought Hoopla was an American thing. The number of ebooks I can borrow without ever having to leave my house has just multiplied tenfold. It's great. (And audiobooks, comics, movies, shows...For free! In a legal way!)

another way to say this: fascism isn't about rules people follow, it's about categories people are in

if you're in the right category nothing you do is bad
if you you're in the wrong category nothing you do is good

it's not about what you do, it's about who you are

"but art should be accessible" it is, you can learn to draw, paint, collage, sculpt, make pixels. right now, starting today. art has never been more accessible monetarily nor physically than it is now in this age. access to artist labor and machine production is not an accessibility issue.

in ~17 years, the writers and narrative designers have consistently been the kindest, smartest folks I've worked with in game dev.

they take some of the stupidest interference from leadership while delivering, time after time.

diminishing their contributions is a short road to worse games.

It's really important you read the article because it's easy to miss what's happening *in the headline* -- because a lot is happening here.

It should not go unsaid that wildfire smoke makes for *serious* brain fog, and that's in people with otherwise healthy lungs.

Alberta, why do we do this every year. Why do we have the same conversation about it every year.

Our workplace is currently going through considerable financial hardship caused by a combination of gross mismanagement and ingrained structural unsustainability.. (cont)
