Studying the data and evidence-base for instructional materials in order to make good decisions and relevant professional learning and coaching are keys to meeting the needs of ALL students.

Researchers Created a Phonics Program With ‘Dramatic’ Results. How It Works Consistent implementation of the 30-minute-a-day program fueled the results.

Another barrier is the preparation of educators teaching older students- and have they been provided adequate training so they know how to scaffold complex texts for students- or provide foundational literacy instruction when working with older students.

Students with intellectual and developmental disabilities IDD such as autism and down syndrome are often left behind when it comes to literacy instruction casualties of the misconceptions that at best. They could only read by learning to recognize common words by sight. For researchers are finding that students with IDD like their peers without disabilities can benefit from a more complete approach, including phonics, vocabulary, and reading comprehension

Thanks for acknowledging our donkey and horse-powered libraries. The children follow these donkeys and carts as children would follow an ice cream truck. We also had to shift to get books into the IDP Centers to children who were displaced from their schools and homes. Literacy changes lives.
