This is easily my favorite Dev Touch yet giving insight not only to the development of a really cool card, but also what the team thinks about Wizard design -- a fairly contentious topic.

Sigil of Brilliance becoming this "glue piece" is dope and I hope we see similar Wizard cards in PEN.

That really is a full turnaround on what Ice normally is! Really interesting idea.

I'm expecting more of a focus on the "Freeze" mechanic, locking heroes out of activating equipment or playing a card from their arsenal.

Those days are the absolute best

I'm fully expecting a "Lexi-set" if Rosetta was the "Briar-set". The return of Ice could do a lot punish the red-line aggro decks we've seen do well in 2025.

I also want them to revisit ice with the same fervor as they did Earth and Lightning -- both designs massively improved.

That lines up pretty well with Set 19 then

So... what do we think? Is the new Aurora coming in PEN or is Set 19 gonna bring back Lightning with an Aurora reprint AND a Lexi reprint?

Not trying to say that Chane isn't strong or anything.

I'm more trying to discourage knee-jerk reactions about Chane suddenly being bdif and SAGE being solved and yada yada yada.

Maybe I'm just swinging at strawmen tho.

The fact that I hadn't seen any doom posting about Chane before this most recent tournament tells me that SAGE is still wide open.

Keep brewing and having fun with this format until the competitive season starts in earnest with PEN.

Yeah, like the "Bare" cards but what about a card that wants you to have all empty zones.

Rhe "Bare" design space of encouraging Brutes to break their chest piece is a mega flavor win. Good design work LSS! Now print a card that cares about having no equipment 😈

Really interested to hear their reasoning in the Dev Talk. The BnR made it sound like they didn't support the format correctly and this decision seems to be running in the opposite direction from that.

Maybe they're just prioritizing SAGE for now and LL will have its day in a year or two.

Also, shoutouts to the entire @savagefeats.bsky.social crew including all the casters! The production for this event was out of this world.

We especially loved the Top 8 hype video -- no clue how y'all were able to shoot and edit something that high quality on that short a turnaround.
