This evening, the arrest of #SamiDin & his companions is bitter. Problems are solved through dialogue, not force. Silenced voices always return as echoes.

Today in Bannu, Waqas was martyred by security forces’ firing, & his brother was injured. In Charsada, #Mirwais was shot & killed. In Kurram, many #houses were destroyed during a security operation. In D I Khan, a young man was #killed by armed assailants. Curfew is imposed in #Waziristan.

Gunfire echoes, children clutching #School bags run for their lives, mothers wait anxiously at doorsteps. While the world’s children shop for Eid, #Waziristan’s children search for shelter. This land, once a cradle of #love, now trembles with fear.

In Pakhtunkhwa, scholars, political leaders, & professionals are being targeted daily. Today, in Waziristan, Dr Hussain Wazir was martyred by armed assailants. In Quetta Dr Mehrullah Tareen was martyred in a bomb blast. In North Waziristan, a woman was severely injured when a shell struck her home.

Waziristan consists of two districts, South Waziristan & North Waziristan. Mir Ali is a tehsil of North #Waziristan. In just one tehsil, 3 youths were killed in target killings yesterday & 3 were killed in target killings today. 3 children including a woman were injured in a drone attack on a house.

Today, in D I Khan district, tribal elders Malik Khair Muhammad Wazir & Malik Sangin Wazir were martyred in two separate incidents of targeted killings. The elders of #Waziristan are not safe anywhere. Talking about peace becomes such a grave crime that these elders are silenced with bullets.

Sometimes, you have to #suffer in life, not because you were bad, but because you didn't #realise when and where to stop being good.
