Todayβs lecture in Integral Equations was a *special edition* lecture, on the applications of Volterra equations. Starting with the famous Liberty Ships and the cause of the fracture of SS Schenectady, the fracture of the tanks during the Great Boston Molasses flood, and the fracture of the Titanic.

Shout out to all academics and students at the start of Term 2! Term time can feel like a marathon. But remember, you canβt pour from an empty cup! Prioritise self-care - take breaks and do what you enjoy! βΊοΈ
If a task feels too daunting, break it into smaller pieces and work through them steadily.

Incredibly proud to see the work-in-progress talks from our 4th year MMath students at the seminar series. It's great to see the depth of their research, a true reflection of how much they've developed since I first taught them Mathematical Methods in 1st yearπ₯Ή
Looking forward to the next seminar! π

Teaching innovation is not an individual pursuit. We can learn a lot from sharing experiences and observing each other.
