But what works?
Well it's an interesting look at the rise of authoritarianism and how it can dismantle the families.
In particular this family.
I appreciated that the core 6 members of the family represented various forms of liberalism slowly being eroded by a parasite from within (put a 📌 in that)

IMO of course.

The first 30 minutes of the film are engaging as hell and worth the watch. But as time passes and the real plot unfolds I did think this was two film ideas frankensteined together.

Some of the plots could have been explored more had it taken its time. The sister and her journalist boyfriend. The other sister and her aggro depressed boyfriend as well. And the stand-up sister who is a fugitive for some reason??

Is it a good film? Yyyyyyyyes.
A very struggling yes.

It has massive ideas spread thinly over a long film. It could have benefitted from being a series in which every episode is a year of theee families lives.

But seriously....

This film is insane. I was expecting from the trailers an erotic revenge thriller that could have been a little The Hand That Rocks The Cradle.

Instead I got the American version of Years and Years.

The 2025 film Anniversary now on #Netflix demonstrates how dangerous The Change is.

As a result, any woman I see going through the menopause is getting dropkicked in an instant.
