I saw the short film ‘We the Surfers’ this is taken from last night, following the setting up of a surf school for kids, girls, anyone really, in Liberia. All boards are donated, and if you don’t have one, grab a plank of wood! Really inspiring, and this kid was great!

One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to was Brian Wilson performing Pet Sounds in its entirety backed by The Wondermints at the Royal Festival Hall in 2002. Such great tunes, and the reverence for the man himself made it a very special evening. Such a talent.

I read something once along the lines of ‘suffering is pain without acceptance’. Seems to tally with what you have said here 👍

Finished finally. Bit of a slog, and not entirely convinced was worth the effort to be honest.

Watched The Finisher Barkley Marathons documentary last night. After today there is no way I could have started another 26 miles after only a pot of pasta and a 10 min rest. I’m fully expecting to be barely able to walk tomorrow. Those runners are a different breed!

Finished the Southampton marathon today in 3hrs 40mins. My first time doing the marathon there. Crikey, who knew Southampton was so hilly! It certainly felt it today.

Heading home from Spiritualized Pure Phase live at The Barbican Centre - what an incredible show. Pure Phase in its entirety, and a 20 minute Cop Shoot Cop encore. A glorious cacophony, my ears will be ringing days! Brilliant!

One of those albums I’ve heard of (best album of all time lists, etc…) but for some reason never got around to listening to - listened to it tonight, and yes, it’s pretty wondrous stuff!

Looking forward to it!

Of course, to win and finish in 80-85 hours is just completely mind-blowing, but I just can’t imagine the resilience and determination needed to to keep going, and going and going now. Truly incredible people, every one!

Just walked into the kitchen and my 18 year old daughter is listening to ‘There is a light that never goes out’ We got there in the end, but finally, my work is done….

It’s amazing how compelling dot watching becomes. This is an incredible event, I am in awe!

Southampton marathon on 6th April. I did the half a couple of years ago, now back for the full.
