DC never resonated with me as a kid. Marvel better connected with me. But some of these newer DC runs are incredible.

Reading DC Comics for the first time since childhood. Tom King’s Wonder Woman series and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow are really, really good.

I mean, keep reading Asimov... it's great sci-fi... but I don't think we're anywhere close to the Robot Wars.

Definitely the best on-screen depiction of Sue Storm. The entire birth sequence was some of the best filmmaking Marvel has produced.

I walked around the house showing this to every member of my family. We're definitely going to see this on the big screen. We make an AirBud reference at least once a week. I'm thrilled.

Going to see the new Fantastic Four movie at 2PM, because I really don't want to see spoilers. I'm looking forward to it! Early critic reviews have at 88% on the Tomatometer. That's pretty good.

Different strokes for different folks. I use all the form factors. But I also buy 3 entrees so I can eat a third of each. I like the variety.

I prefer my-org/my-repo, because I'd rather hit the hyphen than the shift key. Also, I read camel case LiKe ThIs.

What happens between issue open and issue close is actually more important. Was there a lot of wait time before quality assurance? Was code committed and sitting in the repo for an extended period of time? Did we build more than what was necessary? Identify waste. Maximize value.

I know very smart people have applied Lean to software development, but it feels to me like some wires got crossed. Assembly is your CI/CD pipelines. You want that fast. Development requires a cross-functional team. Measuring issue open to issue close times isn't about speed; it's about waste.

Product development is not product assembly. In a past life, I worked as an industrial engineering technician in the automotive industry. We were applying Lean Manufacturing practices. In development, you minimize waste and maximize value. In assembly, you optimize for speed and efficiency.

This is big-time celebrity status!

While @swyx.io isn't wrong, I've burned too much energy thinking I can influence the vocabulary of the zeitgeist. I just let it wash over me now. Apathy is bliss?

It's a new skill set, IMHO, and we're still figuring it out as the technology is rapidly changing. Each model is different, too, and has different nuances for creating high quality output. I'm not yet sure how junior developers can best use this. It's easy to go far in the wrong direction.

It's fun, and also, I think it's still a lot of work when building production-grade software. I spend a lot of time documenting the software design I'm targeting. I guide the agents to write and iterate on the code, which I closely review. It *feels* like I get more done, and I'm still tired after.

The Incredibles was very openly inspired by Fantastic Four, I thought. Even the name is an inspiration. In any case, that comparison is a high bar, and I’m excited to see it.

I love that the door burst was practical and not CGI. I wouldn’t want to enter a room like this, though. I hate making a mess.

Possible hot take: AI code agents are actually more effectively used in large feature creation than in small bug fixes. Reasoning: It requires a lot of meticulous planning and design by the developer to get high quality work from LLMs. That time might not be worth it for small bug fixes.

The future of AI agents is probably less like Terminator and more like Gremlins. Granting agency requires ceding control. I think we actually want “yolo mode”. We just need to figure out the rules. Don’t feed your agents after midnight!

Those are good examples! Many have earlier origins than modern US pop culture, but that's part of the allure. What scared us thousands of years ago still scares us today. It's a shared thread across time. In some ways, AI agents are the new boogeyman. Frightening or just misunderstood? Maybe both?

I hear that. Unfortunately, if I'm going for "ancient and supernatural", the US can't offer anything. Even the Disney version of these are stolen from other cultures. But no one should boo-hoo for what could be considered "colonizers' dilemma".

“Agents” is a boring name. We had the right idea with “daemons”. Why don’t we go with “djinns” or “daevas”?

When people leave jobs, they’re often careful to not “burn the bridge”. However, it’s more often the employer who sets that bridge on fire, as that’s the power dynamic. So my advice to a lot of folks is… Be cautious when revisiting those ashes. Keep moving forward. It gets better.
