Another false arrow crab held in my hand. This one is a mature individual, and is mottled various shades of brown. On the tip of each leg, fine hairs form a fan-like surface, which aid in swimming. There are small, mossy-looking filaments covering each leg and the body of the crab.

They're named for their extremely elongate, arrow-shaped rostrum. Algae grows sparsely on the shell, enhancing camouflage as such a body offers little physical defense.
