(side note, my college debate coach looked just like Vizzini if he wore a suit & black rim glasses. He was also the most miserable arrogant socially inept person I've ever known)

Tweet from Ella Devi: canvassing for @ZohranKMamdani in the east village today and the actor who plays dr. strugis in young sheldon is in my canvassing group!!
Photo of Ella with another canvasser and Wallace Shawn
On the other site, an 18-year-old Zohran canvasser described the legendary Wallace Shawn as "the actor who plays Dr. Sturgis on Young Sheldon" which is honestly adorable

Thinking is, or ought to be, a coolness and a calmness; and our poor hearts throb, and our poor brains beat too much for that.

I recall years ago when I would go visit the in-laws in February and join the Naples Velo 7 a.m. group ride.
If it was below 55F local guys would be in thermal jacket, tights, and heavy booties while I had on a wind vest & thin arm warmers

my comment is out of pure jealousy
the high temp here today is 46F and I'm waiting to ride until the wind calms down below 15 mph.

but Donnie ShortFingers couldn't be bothered to put on a tuxedo to his own black tie theme party?
Also what's with his guests wearing fedoras & flat caps while eating?
They're the most tacky tasteless bunch of rich people I've ever seen

I know that Irony died a thousands deaths & was buried by the GOP years ago,
But Donnie Short Fingers, throwing a Gatsby themed party at his FL resort on the eve of cutting food aid to 42 million Americans and on day 31 of a government shutdown he orchestrated,
is something else

I miss having a good quality stick umbrella.
I had a straight handle one in my twenties that was a gift from my grandfather. Never had as nice an umbrella since.

my great grandfather made the tuxedo my father was married in, by hand.
I have a black top coat that he made in 1960. It's perhaps the last garment he made still in existence. And it's still a nice coat.

this is the end of a long worthwhile thread on the sad state of "bespoke" suits in America.
True story, my great grandfather was a bespoke tailor in Chicago. In the 1950's his was offered a considerable sum to cut suits in Hong Kong for 5 years. He declined rather than close his shop & relocate

honestly,
if Palm Pilot came back with a blue tooth & wifi enabled device,
I would go back to Motorola Razr & PDA over the current I-Phones.
If only to have one device on the desk & one that actually fits in my pants pocket.

there are not many people I would say this about,
but Mark Burnett deserves a perpetual New England Puritan style shunning, everywhere and by everyone,
just for his role in rescuing the Donald's public profile with that awful show.

on the one hand, the Donald will be lucky to still be ambulatory by 2028 given his current health,
