Yeah, having once been employed by a weird mix of scions of both genuine aristocrats and well established artists to essentially be their musical butler, yeah those rich kids sure do know their way around an arts council funding application

every now & then I think it's an odd curio of the tabletop game scene just how large % of chat revolves around company news, labour disputes, financial issues etc
like outside people directly involved in the biz, music fans generally aren't endlessly discussing Universal or, say, XL's balance sheet

I was a little surprised they didn’t do at least like an old school looking CR module to go with the new album but they did have plenty else to do so next time maybe

I 100% understand the value and reasons behind it but something that absolutely grinds my gears is when people on high profile mainstream broadcast media, eg the BBC Olympics coverage, are insufferably horny for creating/broadcasting/hyping viral social media content
Like, have some self respect

A vintage Halloween trick or treat bags, this one featuring a cowboy with a pumpkin head, as you do
A vintage Halloween trick or treat bags this one from McDonalds and featuring McBoo (I believe is the cartoon ghost’s name(
A vintage Halloween trick or treat bags, very stylish 1960s looking design, a black cat lurks amongst orange pumpkins as a witch flies into the night
A vintage Halloween trick or treat bags, a cheap plastic bag with five young face painted hoodlums on, holding out a bag they’re about to stuff with loot from the brutal home invasion and triple murder they’re about to commit that will haunt a neighbourhood for years, become an urban legend and one day inspire a film franchise. Possibly
We regret to inform you that following our post a couple of weeks ago we’ve now become obsessed with vintage Halloween trick or treat bags
I mean why wouldn’t you, just look at some of these

I'd say 99% of making Wyrd Science is a grim, joyless slog BUT every now & then you're lying there being pummelled by a physio & the perfect headline for a feature that's eluded you for ages arrives fully formed in your head and, well, it doesn't make up for all the rest but it's still pretty good

A couple of guys working the controls of an incredibly DIY looking cassette soundsystem
My day has been absolutely, completely derailed by finding this insta account of what in my total poverty of knowledge I can only describe as Indian soundsystems playing kind of on-u-sound/the bug style heavy industrial dub/ragga/rave/bhangra off cassettes

I’d say America desperately needs a new kind of gambling focused temperance movement but it would inevitably just be a poorly disguised front for Right Wing fetish content à la trad wives and all that nonsense

oh man, for about three years I worked next door to the Dub Vendor shop, and I just used to spend most lunchtimes listening to and buying hilariously awfully pressed 7" imports from Jamaica, still got about 4 boxes of them, just endless obscure versions.

The Ace Of Clubs - Classid Trax - 125.8 (Classid Three)
for months I've had a track spinning around at the back of my head & oh happy day I finally remembered what it was, absolute classic Luke Vibert number that I'm pretty sure I wore my vinyl copy down to a perfectly smooth flat disc as it didn't leave my record bag for the best part of a decade

I like that the sound quality of the musical accompaniment to the figure skating on the bbc coverage right now is so bad that the pair currently doing their thing sound like they’re performing to a Shitmat remix

Living in Belgium it’s mildly funny to look at that Bluesky map doing the rounds and see French Progressive Politics & Culture and Dutch Progressive community on literally the opposite sides of the galaxy with just a sea of noise in between
