There is a Watchmen-like avenue they could have taken this that would have been VERY interesting - but Marvel/Disney are uncreative weenies that really can't make much more than plane movies anymore

A Bright(!) mid-century clean space age aesthetic? God-King technocratic Superheroes that can rally international cooperation to their whims?; But then it doesn't go anywhere interesting with the things that make it unique. I felt like I saw this movie before despite the window dressing.

Fantastic Four was...a superhero movie...for sure. It felt like it would go right to the edge of being kind of interesting and then make a boring/predictable choice.
