We need to voice our frustrations with this. I say we call and email the board over and over until we hear answers. We can't let them think we will lose interest. I made a reddit post on how to contact the board if anyone is interested: redd.it/1jpb80i

Was she confused as in confused the links are down or confused about whether or not the project actually exists anymore? Who did you call, I want to call a couple numbers myself

It's just mindblowing to me to ignore Sepulveda for K north, like I'm all for the hybrid alignment but Sepulveda is frankly more important

Why would Horvarh want to kill it? It's her district, how is she not championing this herself

Maybe I'll bring it up during general public comment at the board meetings if I get the chance to attend virtually. Could you help me out with the best way to word it?

Is there a point of contact within Metro who I can bombard?

Who can I email to voice my rage about this

Another important stat for this discussion: Of the 153 violent crimes perpetrated on Metro between May 2023 and April 2024, 143 of them β€” more than 93% β€” were believed to be committed by people who did not pay a valid fare

If half of evaders end up paying fares, these gates will pay for themselves in 13 yrs. If 3/4 pay, then 9 yrs. Given how low rates are at NoHo, a 3/4 reduction might happen. Plus I expect reduced cleaning/maintenance costs with the reduction in fare evaders. Based on Metro reported evasion rates

Around a dozen is overstating it a bit, I think it was around 7 opposed comments and 3 pro. Sorry to nitpick but I'm one in favor of this and a lot of what those advocates say just sounds ridiculous to me, especially going fareless. Having been to PSAC listening sessions, people want better gates

Wouldn't this law only apply if these cities have noncompliant housing elements? Isn't LA city about to approve a compliant zoning set up soon? How are these parcels you've highlighted eligible for the updated builders remedy and will they stay eligible

Harass LA Metro as much as I can to pick automated heavy rail for the Sepulveda transit corridor and get as many other people as I can to do the same

New renderings for LA Metro’s Sepulveda Transit Corridor have been released by a transit design firm working with Metro. Renderings appear to depict the stations and maintenance/storage facility for automated heavy rail options from the Bechtel team.

Transit Capital Project Delivery Reforms: Building cleaner, faster, and cheaper – Californians for Electric Rail

If we want to electrify thousands of miles of rail in CA by 2050, we need to do it a lot faster and cheaper. Currently, CA pays far more for infrastructure than countries like Italy and Spain, which have mostly electric rail. What can we do differently?🧡 calelectricrail.org/transit-capi...

How does the financial side of a JD work? Does the developer lease the land and pocket tenant rent or do the developer and Metro split the rental income?

So they had a surplus? Where does surplus money go? Also, would joint developments earn Metro money in the future? Are there any projections on how much?

LA City Councilmembers Traci Park and Adrin Nazarian have introduced a motion to exempt Olympic venues, facilities, transit infrastructure, etc. from approvals, zoning, permits, height and setback restrictions, etc., and to use Olympics CEQA exemption.

Any talk of getting rid of the owner occupancy requirement for SB9?

16.12.2024 20:20 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Has LA put that in writing anywhere? I know that sb1123 isn't even live yet but could you get the whole thing with all the new houses and ADUs approved/permitted in one go?

14.12.2024 16:13 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

For those not familiar: "SB 1123 (Caballero) updates SB 684 (2023) to make it legal to build up to 10 homes on vacant lots in single-family zones near jobs, schools, transit, and other amenities, by streamlining the approval process for these projects."

Allow TOC incentives to apply to SB1123 projects? SB1123 seems to have flown under the radar but it sounds wild to me. Like can you add ADUs to SB1123 homes? SB9 the newly created parcels?
