Don't blame individuals for being given two horrible choices.
Only us in Alaska could use ranked-choice voting wish it was other places as well

That's a great idea! Ranked Choice Voting with open primaries are currently used in statewide races in Alaska and Maine. It can happen, we just need to fight for it.
See if there is a group pushing for election improvements in your state.

He wishes for #RankedChoiceVoting because βfiguring out how to pull together and find common ground remains something that is really important for democracies.β

You're right, It will hurt candidates. It will also push them further towards the extremes.
Republican representatives would not have to "fall in line" if they were elected through ranked choice voting, they could afford to disagree with their party, ex Alaskan Senator Murkowski (rcv elected)
Republican representatives wanted to pass a budget which includes disaster relief for red states such as North Carolina.
However Trump has threatened to "primary" any representatives which pass this. Ranked Choice Voting can prevent this and allow for our representatives to support their citizens.
Hi Lesley! Ranked Choice Voting is an improvement to voting where you can rank candidates based on how much they align with your views.
Ranked Choice Voting could let you choose the best of multiple Democratic or Republican candidates, rather than just the one that each party puts forward.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski describes how parties are using primaries to keep their members loyal to the party rather than letting them fight for their citizens.
Primaries can no longer be used as a threat with ranked choice voting.
Alaska has voted to keep ranked choice voting statewide. Hear from an Alaskan how broken their state government was, and how this ranked choice voting is fixing it.

Ranked Choice Voting passes with over 80% of votes in an Illinois town, only for a judge to overrule it.
The citizens have spoken but the judicial branch has covered their ears.
It was a campaign promise from our governor in order for him to get an endorsement. Ultimately voting reforms are decently popular in CT, and that pushes our government to act.
Send messages to your state representatives through their websites if you want change.
