NASA invented freeze food technology. They developed ways to make our food last longer. So yeah, they have helped. You have no idea what you're talking about.

I do care about real people now, too. Climate change, forest fires, the rising of sea levels all kill people, too. Homelessness and medical debt are real issues but defunding NASA won't make it better. Don't put your rage on an agency that does real good for the entire world.

NASA didn't send Katy Perry to Mars, Blue Origin did. NASA does, however, monitor the melting of polar ice caps and weather patterns. They develop tech for prosthesis patients, do research on stopping the expansion of greenhouse gas emissions, help monitor for wildfires...I could go on.

You want to stop global warming, mass starvation, any number of large issues plaguing the world today? The funding of the human urge to explore the unknown is your answer to those problems. Why fund NASA? Because NASA is responsible for some of the greatest technological advancements of our time.

I hate when people say "why try to explore space when things are so bad on Earth?" The research for the space programs are so incredibly necessary. Tech that you rely on everyday exists because of NASA: water and air filters, insulation, laptops, camera phones, smoke detectors. ALWAYS fund science.
