3 people were arrested with 1 of them sent to hospital and then released. The abduction report was found to be false. RCMP say the investigation is ongoing with charges against the driver expected to be recommended.

RCMP say they conducted a high speed chase last night because of an abduction report in north #Kamloops at around 7 pm. It ended with an RCMP SUV hitting the suspect vehicle (a Dodge Ram) pinning it in by the Canco on Tranquille rd.

The #Coquihalla highway remains closed between Merritt and Hope, and #hwy3 is also closed Hope to Princeton. Highway 8 is also closed due to flood concerns.

Some highways between the Interior and Lower Mainland are beginning to reopen after they were closed due to flooding and slides. #Hwy1 has reopened between Lytton and Yale with westbound lanes also open now in the Hope area. #Hwy99 has reopened West of Lillooet.

Drive BC says the highway has reopened to single lane alternating traffic in Monte Lake

Good morning from downtown #Kamloops, expect slick conditions at higher elevations today with flurries or rain showers expected and a high of 2, a low of 0 with a chance of flurries or showers tonight.

Highway 97 has been closed in Monte Lake because of multiple vehicle incidents along the snowy southern Interior highway.
Drive BC says there is a serious crash in Monte Lake blocking both lanes.
There is no word when the route will reopen.

The Coquihalla highway has reopened to travellers but drivers are told to expect delays between #Merritt and #Kamloops

The Coquihalla is now open to southbound travelers with the Northbound lanes still blocked between exit 286 and exit 290 for a vehicle incident and vehicle recovery.
