So in order to keep that franchise alive, you have to replace the BOOKS, not the films. That’s what this TV show is doing, and no amount of online shaming is going to keep Warner Brothers from giving up that asset.

All the comments and reactions I see blaming individual actors for taking roles or saying it’s disrespectful to the filmmakers are missing the big picture that a multi-billion dollar franchise was built around children’s books, and now we have a generation that can’t fucking read.

Yes, this is a cash grab but think for a moment about WHY. Those movies are only 15 years old, and warner brothers created entire THEME PARKS over replicating the movie sets exactly. Why remake everything? Because unless you have read the books, the later movies are nonsensical.

Is no one going to talk about how the reason they’re remaking HP into a TV show is because Gen Alpha can’t read?
