my former pcp left recently so the physician in charge of my mental health meds is moonlighting as my pcp and i keep waiting for her to be like "you gotta stop telling people to 'meet you in the parking lot' when they say stupid shit on fb" lol

I do not make this comparison lightly.

ngl this is like my worst fear as a mouthy little asshole in a very small town but with my pcp.

like until very recently i did not know which one member is seonghwa and which one is yeosang despite the fact they don't really look alike. i also still don't know i.n & seungmin.

i frequently can't distinguish people from each other until i know them better and even sometimes i can tell two people don't look alike but my brain refuses to remember who is who without intense studying.

Press statement From Islip Forward: At approximately 9:30 a.m. this morning, federal agents were documented using infrastructure located on the property of the Central Islip Fire Department Station 2, at 110 Wheeler Road-without prior authorization to be on or use that space. When a volunteer with Islip Forward approached to document the activity, federal agents threatened the volunteer with arrest for alleged trespassing, despite the agents themselves operating in an area where no prior permission had been granted. Immediately following this interaction, the Central Islip Fire Department took swift action to protect its property and the public. Temporary restrictions were implemented, including closing the gate to the area being used and preventing external access. The use of municipal fire department property for federal enforcement activity—without authorization-and the subsequent threat directed at a community volunteer raise serious concerns about transparency, overreach, and respect for local institutions. We are deeply grateful to the volunteer firefighters of the Central Islip Fire Department for their decisive and responsible response.

“What You Are Looking For is in the Library” tells the stories of patrons of a Tokyo neighborhood’s library and how a good book (and a practically magical librarian) can change your entire life. The book also highlights the fact that a library is meant to be the heart of a community, and was a timely read a few days after pulling up to my local library and seeing the library’s new security guard walking around looking like an I.C.E agent, and wondering if our library is safe for the community it serves.

Although I read these two books 10 days apart, I think it’s most appropriate to review them as a pair. While listening to these books, I kept trying to find a word that properly represents the mood of this story, and the best I could come up with is “earnest”. Although this story includes the two Big Moments of tragedy, it focuses much more on the smaller parts of grief that are often harder to get through than the event itself.

My little tour of Asian mysteries has led me to the Kamogawa Detective Agency, a nearly magical place where a father-daughter team works together to perfectly recreate dishes from your past. Not exactly the type of mystery I intended to read, but this book was so good. Quant, nostalgic, and warm, this book left me a tiny bit sad and feeling a bit reflective.

I enjoyed this introduction; however, the author had more faith in my vocabulary than I could live up to. Despite my horrific lack of science-based vocabulary, I enjoyed learning the history of pseudosciences, as well as the multitude of ways we determine the validity of sciences. And frankly, I think this book should be sent to every home in the US to remind some of us that science, by its very nature, is constantly changing. Perhaps, further education on the scientific method from people who actually know what they’re talking about will lead to better things. Gotta be better than a lawyer ruining both the American healthcare system and his family’s political reputation.
