9 days left of school. My principal is so toxic that my Sunday scaries are weekly baby panic attacks. Is it summer yet?

It’s taking every ounce of my willpower to finish this grad program, my motivation is so low, the country is in shambles, my mental health is a mess, and I care way too much about a job that doesn’t care about its teachers. All I want is to watch Grey’s Anatomy and read silly romance novels 🫠

Fought a cold all weekend, depression and anxiety hit hard, tried to work on a paper for my last semester of my grad program but mostly avoided it by disassociating through watching Schmigadoon. This pretty much sums up life right now.

I love hearing my kid read. It’s magical. But her deciding that she wants to read 5 chapters of Baby Sitter’s Club Little Sister Graphic Novel after I’ve ALREADY read her 3 chapters of the novel were reading at 9pm feels like a hostage situation.

Thanks, we’ve all used CommonLit here and there (and like it a lot), but haven’t considered it as a sole curriculum before, we’ll look into it. We’re hoping for something with a concrete book, we’ve been piecemealing everything for so long and need some simplicity

California MS ELA teachers, what curriculums do you like? Our school doesn’t have one and we (teachers) are considering asking for one. We are hoping for a decent one that we can use in conjunction with novel studies. TIA #edusky

Cat chronicles day 4… cat has stayed in the same spot. Every day. She has allowed us to pet her. But that is all. She explores slightly at night. This might be an “I shall merely exist with you” cat, much to my 7yo’s great disappointment.

I’m at the stage of exhaustion where I don’t even have it in me to do proper classroom management, the kids don’t care, I’m just wiped… I know I need to do better but it’s just so hard when the world is a dumpster fire. #edusky
