Railway station at Dinan. Lovely 1930s stone build with a tall tower.
The Hotel de France near Le Mans. It has been hosting teams and guests for decades after races at Le Mans. It's a pretty special place. A beautiful 1930s hotel and restaurant.
Side street in Rennes, of 17th century wood frame and stone buildings
St Malo at sunset. Sea, lit with oranges of the last traces of sunset, standing in a cliff with some cliffside plants, home to bats and cicadas.
Because life is sometimes about going somewhere new (to me) and doing something new. Le Mans 24 hours Classic cars, followed by 5 nights in St Malo. Meandering back (on TGV at 230 km/h) via Paris. I am very fortunate.

A particularly Wolds-y part of the Wolds. Sweeping hills, turning round a corner
The long stretch of sand at Spurn point, water the the left, and a line of runners ahead, all dashing to the lighthouse and back, for the Spurn 7 mile race, 'cos it's there
Swallow sculpture in the University Park, Oxford. Iron cast swallow, home to 150 nesting places.
Escapism to a degree, but also appreciating where I am and the freedom to get out and about. I heart weekends. Cxx

Notre Dame cathedral at night
Memorial to those who died in the 6th arrondissement of Paris in both World Wars and the conflict in North Africa
Miffy waits for the next match. I like how prepared the arena is, with coat racks and chairs
Train from Rodez to Brive-Le-Galliarde then to Paris yesterday; on the Eurostar to London and up to York this afternoon. It is important to do things because they are there and they give much-needed head-space.

Single carriage train, about to set off to Rodez
View from the train, about 45 minutes into 205 minutes journey
View rolling into Rodez, with the cathedral tower poking up high into the air
Statue of local writer, at viewpoint over the south of the city
Today, to Rodez, really because it is here. It is a lovely town, on an even lovelier, single-track, single carriage train that could, with stunning views.

Thank you so much for sharing. I've been struggling to articulate why I'm worried about the way our culture and our values are at risk, and this article absolutely nails it.

Like so many folks, I have loved Gary Imlach from afar, since the days of Blitz. The quality from the whole team at ITV is second-to-none. I guess it is a bit odd, Ned, to be asked many questions at your own events about Gary Imlach, human enigma and polo-shirt king that he is. Thank you for this.
