A raven haired seductress leans against an enormous statue backed by twilight blue sky. One hand rests on her cocked hip while her opposite knee flares out. The drape of her gown, cinched high at two clasps, covers one side of her body entirely, while her other arm posed casually overhead draws up the fabric of her gown to offer a tantalizing glimpse of alabaster skin. Bent at the knee, her leg offers pale contrast through the long slit in the black silk. The line of flesh exposed climbs the bare curve of her hip over midsection and up her torso. Dark eyes glance sideways at the audience in a cool gaze. Her eyelids and lips—the only color on her—are painted royal purple to match the flowers growing at the base of the statue. Barefoot she stands not quite at knee height of the man depicted in weathered stone behind her. The full moon frames his face which cuts off at his cheeks. His beard is braided. He holds in his hands an egg and a cracked urn.

If I don't take the time to keep notes during the creation of a painting, I often forget the meaning of symbolism in it. 1/4

For all his tattooings he was on the whole a clean, comely looking cannibal.

Stop what you’re doing and watch this immediately.
Canadian doctors returned from Gaza and are sharing what they witnessed and lived.
They are demanding action from Mark Carney.
Their testimony is our failure.

Vital point here. The frames of political discourse — which are shaped by the structure of the info environment and by both strategic & organic communication — shape how people interpret their own experiences. We're not dealing with a problem of bad "facts" ... but one of corrupted sensemaking.

My muni has a council that leans this way (incl a 'build build build' council member). This will be nothing but disastrous. It baffles me that so many people have a blind spot on this issue.

Jeune fille de profil (1899) by Lucien-Victor Guirand de Scévola (French artist, lived 1871-1950). The poised beauty of a young woman in profile. Ethereal + timeless.

Cumbrian postman, 'Old Cooper' who walked from Kirkby Stephen to The Thrang and back, six days a week (and on three days extended to Aisgill Moor). It is said he had strong views on many subjects "which he freely offered to the valley residents as he delivered the post". I bet!

I had to do an errand,
Had to pick a peck of Snide
In a dark and gloomy Snide-field
That was almost nine miles wide.
