We recently spent an entire day at Ridgefield High School teaching students all about mason bees! ๐Ÿ
From life cycles and nesting habits to why these native bees matter for healthy ecosystems, it was great to see students engaged, curious, and asking thoughtful questions.

Warm January days can be tricky for mason bees. Weโ€™ve started getting reports of male mason bees emerging early, and itโ€™s simply too soon. Early emergence puts bees at risk. If possible, harvest cocoons and store them in the refrigerator until March, when blooms begin.
