🐝 Join us to talk spring mason bees!
On Sunday, February 22 at 1 PM, the Vancouver Bee Project will be at Wild Birds Unlimited to chat all about mason bees and getting ready for spring.

We were so excited to continue our partnership with Friends of Trees again this year! 🌱
Despite a cold morning last weekend, an amazing group of volunteers showed up in SE Vancouver ready to get to work.

We’re incredibly thankful for the support of the Firstenburg Foundation! 💛
Their generosity helps us bring impactful, science-based programming to Vancouver and throughout Clark County.

We recently spent an entire day at Ridgefield High School teaching students all about mason bees! 🐝
From life cycles and nesting habits to why these native bees matter for healthy ecosystems, it was great to see students engaged, curious, and asking thoughtful questions.

We’re excited to host our very first Pollinators & Pints this Thursday, January 29, starting at 5:30 PM at Gray’s Restaurant!
This is a casual, social get-together focused on building community and connecting with others who care about pollinators, native plants, and healthy landscapes.

2025 was a great year for the Vancouver Bee Project—and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Because of your support, Vancouver officially became a Bee City, strengthening our city’s commitment to protecting pollinators and expanding native habitat.

Warm January days can be tricky for mason bees. We’ve started getting reports of male mason bees emerging early, and it’s simply too soon. Early emergence puts bees at risk. If possible, harvest cocoons and store them in the refrigerator until March, when blooms begin.

We want to send a huge thank-you to the City of Vancouver for all your support in 2025! Together, we helped make Vancouver a Bee City USA and delivered a regionally unique Pollinator Festival that brought our community together to celebrate pollinators, native plants, and habitat. S

The newly planted part-shade woodland meadow at the Water Resources Education Center is looking great! 🌿🌼
It’s a fantastic example of how native plants can thrive in filtered light—and there’s also a great rabbit fence on site if you’re looking for practical, wildlife-smart solutions.

We know so many of you have already stepped up to advocate for Clark College to re-plant their lost meadows—and now there’s a perfect chance to keep that momentum going. Join us Monday, December 15 at 1 PM for the Clark College Meadow Seeding Event and help restore the remaining meadows on campus.
