Despite a cold morning last weekend, an amazing group of volunteers showed up in SE Vancouver ready to get to work.
Weโre incredibly thankful for the support of the Firstenburg Foundation! ๐
Their generosity helps us bring impactful, science-based programming to Vancouver and throughout Clark County.
We recently spent an entire day at Ridgefield High School teaching students all about mason bees! ๐
From life cycles and nesting habits to why these native bees matter for healthy ecosystems, it was great to see students engaged, curious, and asking thoughtful questions.
Weโre excited to host our very first Pollinators & Pints this Thursday, January 29, starting at 5:30 PM at Grayโs Restaurant!

2025 was a great year for the Vancouver Bee Projectโand we couldnโt have done it without you.
Because of your support, Vancouver officially became a Bee City, strengthening our cityโs commitment to protecting pollinators and expanding native habitat.
We love these two people! Brandi and Hailey have played a huge role in helping our organization grow and thrive over the past few years. Their support, dedication, and belief in the work truly matter. Thank you bothโweโre grateful to have you with us.
15.01.2026 03:21 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Warm January days can be tricky for mason bees. Weโve started getting reports of male mason bees emerging early, and itโs simply too soon. Early emergence puts bees at risk. If possible, harvest cocoons and store them in the refrigerator until March, when blooms begin.

The newly planted part-shade woodland meadow at the Water Resources Education Center is looking great! ๐ฟ๐ผ
Itโs a fantastic example of how native plants can thrive in filtered lightโand thereโs also a great rabbit fence on site if youโre looking for practical, wildlife-smart solutions.
We know so many of you have already stepped up to advocate for Clark College to re-plant their lost meadowsโand now thereโs a perfect chance to keep that momentum going. Join us Monday, December 15 at 1 PM for the Clark College Meadow Seeding Event and help restore the remaining meadows on campus.
