"rich dipshit owner doesn't understand the industry he's bought into and clumsily destroys what made it good" feels less like a narrative unique to the washington post and more like the music that's been playing in the background of all our lives for at least 40 years

Some children being released evokes a hostage situation. ICE truly has kidnapped all these people, for what.

β€˜ICE conveyor belt’ illegally detaining, moving Minnesota children to Texas faster than courts can respond ICE is pulling Minnesota immigrant families with legal status out of their driveways, homes and school commutes and sending them to Texas within hours β€” in at least two cases against a judge’s order. ...

Columbia Heights has now connected the located child and her family with legal counsel. But TX lawyers told MPR they have spoken to MN families at Dilley who were not provided required legal counsel before being shipped out of state. www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

The two children who returned to MN today say they saw one of their Valley View schoolmates at a detention center in TX. This is a child whose family was last in contact with the school on January 9. No one has known where they were until now.

For nearly a year, the administration has said that DOGE had no unauthorized access to your Social Security data. A new government filing admits that was false.

Virginia’s New Governor Ends ICE Program. Local Contracts Remain, For Now. - Bolts Abigail Spanberger left the 287(g) program, which empowered state law enforcement to detain immigrants. Will Democrats also bar local police and sheriffs from the program?

NEW: Abigail Spanberger this afternoon ordered that all state agencies leave ICE's 287(g) program.

This means that the state police (and some other agencies) will no longer be empowered to detain and arrest people for ICE.

Big, big move by the governor within weeks of coming into office.

Trump withdraws 700 immigration agents from Minnesota deportation surge, thousands remain The Trump administration is withdrawing some 700 federal immigration enforcement agents from Minnesota, although about 2,000 agents will stay in place, White House border czar Tom Homan announced on W...

Trump quietly pulls 700 immigration agents out of Minnesota after weeks of backlash, but keeps roughly 2,000 on the ground β€” a partial retreat that changes the optics, not the policy.

Oh, it me. I'll bite. I'm not defending criminals. I'm defending due process, which actual criminals also deserve.

And the first person I protested for was a Fulbright Scholar, not "the worst."

I'm not sure what to make of it, but every Somali I represent in immigration court currently (8 of them) have today had their hearings cancelled and their judges reassigned. They're now all assigned to a video judge from Louisiana and scheduled for court hearing in one month. 🧡

I don't think the average person in America ought to have to become an expert in IDing military weaponry, ordinances & vehicles on the spot as they're used against us & our neighbors but here we are 🫠 having to learn what most of the rest of the world has to learn when the US shows up in the streets

Bad Bunny’s Puerto Rican Homecoming The Latin-trap performer is probably the most important pop musician of our time. Key to his success is that the bigger he gets, the more local he seems.

Please do not look to Johnny-come-lately "all the anarchists I don't like are feds, actually" adventurists for opsec advice.

Especially when they've spent the past 48 hours saying it's good and virtuous to snitch-record protesters
