It went extra innings of game 7 in the world series. It takes 2 amazing teams to do that. A microgram of luck decided the winner. Both teams won if you ask me. Unfortunately there is only enough trinkets for one of them.

I spent a couple of weeks on a job in Sydney about 20 years ago and was informed by someone in a pub, so I assume reliably, that the Cape Breton accent is due to the fact that Capers are just Newfoundlanders who ran out of money on their way to Toronto 😜

I've worked with several Newfoundlanders in my life and have found they lose, or don't use?, that accent unless talking to other Newfoundlanders. When they get going amongst themselves it is almost incomprehensible to my ears (I grew up in Ontario)...

The wiki has coordinates if you want to paste into a map app. East shore: 49°42'2"N 116°51'59"W. The beach was a popular place for nomads to stay. Clothing optional if I recall. But there wasn't many people there in September.

There was power lines crossing the lake. Over 3km span. It was the longest span in North America at the time. The beach is below the pilons on the east shore, between Kootenay bay and Riondel. Can't find it on map but found a wiki on the power lines. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kootena...

I camped on power lines beach for 2 weeks in 1989. I'm travelling western Canada this year and might go through that area. Perhaps I'll have a nostalgia and have a look for that beach.

The only thing standing in the way is politic(ian)s. Where I am in Ontario, Canada, we're on track to install 3GWh of grid storage this year. And that's with a anti-renewable conservative provincial gov. The previous gov. brought in time-of-use billing, which makes a business case for storage.

On days like this I find it so hard to reconcile our human actions with the almost impossible odds that we exist at all. I wish we treasured and valued each other. I wish we realized there’s more than enough for everyone. That we belong to each other, we need each other. That we are all we have.
