Fixing the trajectory of our country and reversing the damage Donald Trump has done is going to take a lot of work. But the Mecklenburg County Dems I met in Charlotte yesterday are up for the challenge β€” and they’re gonna start by making @roycoopernc.bsky.social the next Senator from North Carolina!

A List of Nearly Everything in the Senate G.O.P. Bill, and How Much It Would Cost or Save The legislation includes tax cuts as well as big cuts to Medicaid, food benefits and other programs, and it would add more than $3 trillion to the national debt.

Here is a list of nearly every provision in the domestic policy bill nearing a vote by Senate Republicans, and how much it would cost or save Americans.

NC Gov. Josh Stein: FEMA is broken as we brace for a new hurricane season | Opinion As I’m writing, North Carolina is staring down yet another hurricane season. We can’t just wait for FEMA to resolve itself.

Thousands of Americans look to FEMA when disaster strikes. As the start of another hurricane season approaches, we don’t want FEMA eliminated – we want it fixed. Here are some thoughts on how we do that: www.usatoday.com/story/opinio...

For my second Intel Briefing, I wanted to break through the noise on three things that affect you:

1️⃣ Tariffs and the impact on our economy

Agree with Marty both on the importance of reading Adam's (excellent) piece and the only way these incredibly disturbing attacks on law firms and lawyers will end.

State, local, national and international bar organizations β€” representing hundreds of thousands of members, and many more β€” have issued statements in support of the fundamental principle of the rule of law. The ABA stands with them. Read the various statements here: ambar.org/vi732823

A lot of people are wondering what they can do right now.

Nothing will solve our problems overnight. But here are just few ways we can all DO SOMETHING to fight back against the Trump Administration as they upend lives, threaten health care, and break the law. 🧡

We rally together when the rule of law is under attack. And make no mistake, our courts and profession are under attack. This is our moment as a profession to speak loudly and clearly, reminding our communities why the rule of law and our justice system are vital to our democracy. Today is the day when the organized bar stands and speaks.

We stand for the rule of law. We defend our judicial system against attacks that seek to intimidate and threaten our courts and judges. We reject the repeated efforts to impeach and remove judges because the government does not agree with the decision. We condemn attacks on lawyers and law firms for representing clients who have challenged a government policy. We defend law firms and organizations who are being attacked for their commitment to a judicial system and profession that are free of bias and for their policies and programs that enhance diversity. Shouldn't every person who appears in our courts be treated the same and consistent with due process as required by our Constitution? Finally we reject efforts that seek to punish those who have represented parties the government does not like. These attacks undermine our system of justice and the principles that define who we are and how democracy works.

Let there be no doubt. The ABA and the profession will lead when we need it most. Now is that time. We stand with our courts and the legal profession as a bulwark against these threats. They must stop.

Attacks on the rule of law, our courts and our profession show no signs of abating. Many have wondered where the lawyers are and how they are responding. The ABA hears the call to action. We do not stand alone: ambar.org/akz90o52

As of Friday, there have been 46 cases in which federal judges have blocked Trump policies.

The rulings in those cases have come from 39 different judges appointed by 5 different presidents (of both parties) to 11 different district courts across 7 different circuits.

Maybe it's not the judges?
