Dreaming of a different kind of London summer day

Toffee factory, Ouseburn, Newcastle. Former Maynard's factory, red brick, chimney, against a blue sky. Low sun, a lot a shadow. A woman waking, silhouetted against a brick wall.

Photo of two apparent buildings. One, closer and to the left, a small concrete pyramid, with vertical walls and a double door at ground level (this isn't actually ground level but is above the crypt of the cathedral). The second, behind and to the right, is a modern glass university building (with alternating windows and window shades). Reflected in the windows of this latter building is the upturned funnel of the Cathedral roof, as well as the blue sky.

I got there via the first possible train on a Sunday morning, and - as you can see - it wasn't very busy. But it was still unpleasant enough that I'd not walk it again. A true once in a lifetime experience!

A picture of sea and sky and a sliver of shingle beach. The lower section is of a dark, brown sea churned up by strong winds in the English Channel. It has been raining heavily for hours, but that has stopped now, and the sky has just brightened. Still cloudy - but while the clouds near the horizon are a deep blue grey, higher up they appear almost brown or peach.

A close up photo of the top of what was previously known as the millennium dome - a huge white, circular marquee, whose roof is supported by 12 yellow towers (one is visible) and cables at all sorts of angles. A group of seven people are walking down an inclined path suspended above the dome's roof - one person well ahead and looking back at the others.
