God of War: Ragnarök in particular, has the protagonists using violence while searching for a nonviolent solution to their problems, only to magically discover that violence was the only answer all along. lol

Feels like quite a few of the Sony 3rd person cinematic action games have narratives that revolve around showing the bad guys are actually complex people with logical reasons behind their actions, tasks you with using terrible violence to oppose them, then condemns you for that violence.

I've been swapping between God of War: Ragnarök and Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut. I was tempted to spend $70 on Ghost of Yōtei and I've instead opted to finish my other Sony 3rd-person cinematic action games to keep me from overspending on another. So far, so good.

'Aight, you can't just say it's not spectacular without naming a JRPG that actually is. Because if Chrono Trigger in the Year of Our Lord 2025 isn't still spectacular, then some JRPG must have outclassed it by now that I evidently missed.

The subtitle reminds me of Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love. Probably no connection between the two, but I love the subtitle for that reason!

If I boot up a game for the first time and one of my brothers is watching, they WILL mock me for going to the options instead of just starting the game. I need to make sure subtitles are on! And what if the HDR settings are wonky!

Eagerly awaiting my vinyl copy of Constant Companions Deluxe Edition hopefully arriving in November (fingers crossed!) It's still my personal album of the year. @jamies.page made a masterpiece and damn it, I want an oversized disc with grooves cut in it that screams, "I really like this album!"

Like, I get it: the financials were a mess, and the moderation was inadequate among (many) other issues. But cohost felt like it actually had a beating fucking heart, unlike the soulless algorithm machines that are most modern social media sites.

Really enjoyed my time with cohost (I was a cohost Plus! subscriber 'til the very end), but its demise could be seen coming about a year or two ahead of time. That site made me into a blogger, and when it died, so too did my desire to blog. Other sites don't hit quite the same.

I finally figured out the coaxial cable situation in the basement of my parents' house. Turns out we had the main internet line running through a 3-way splitter for literally no reason! Rerouted it, and now there's faster internet and more convenient router placement for ethernet access!

It should still be feasible, but now I have to map out the cables to determine which cables go to which rooms, figure out why there are more coaxial splitters than there are rooms to deliver cables to, check each cable for service, and simplify the setup if possible. This'll be fun!

I wanted to use MoCa adapters to turn the coaxial ports in my parents' house into essentially ethernet ports for devices. But it turns out there are no coaxial ports in the house. Instead, the basement has a series of coaxial splitters, and the cables are then fed up and through floors and walls. 😵‍💫

Ooo, the original Breath of Fire! Great memories with that one.

Sadly, I do not have the money to buy games I'll never play. Hell, I barely have the funds to buy the ones I do play!

As a kid, I only ever used my Game Gear (a Sega Sports Blue version) with the AC adapter because of how battery hungry it was. Needless to say, it wasn't much of a portable system for me!

Pokémon Prism running on an Analogue Pocket.

Playing Pokémon on the Analogue Pocket while lying in bed has been a much needed blast of nostalgia. Of course, a completely authentic experience would require no backlit screen, a dim, constantly flickering worm light, and no rom hacks. But that's a bit too much nostalgia for my taste.
