CNA at the local hospital, plays Mega Man and Minecraft, mods nerf blasters, makes pipecleaner action figures, administrator for Harmonious Buttons, author of "Tales from the Creature Keeper" and "Space Cass". "No pun intended" is such a weak mindset.

Happy 10th anniversary to this magnificent take, brought to you by the members of the "James I? Never heard of him, mate" society.

Here's another bit of conventional wisdom Zohran completely blew away: His speech was at well above a 10th-grade level. It was complex, erudite, punctuated by deep and fluent references. You don't have to condescend to voters with baby talk! Part of re-establishing norms is speaking like an adult.

Tonight's even more proof the mainstream reporters who are still on Twitter are suffering from a brain problem akin Havana Syndrome that is preventing them from accurately doing their jobs. They are being cooked alive by a snuff-focused apartheid algorithm.

Democratic party leadership has been on autopilot for ten years, they weren't losing to fascism, fascism isn't popular enough for them to lose to fascism, they were allowing it to fill the void where their leadership should have been. Tonight we're seeing that we have other options. They should too.

This was the clip that put Mamdani on the national stage, and it should be a lesson to every Democrat planning to run for office. Get your ass on the front lines before you ask for our votes.

What happens when you distill 2025 into a single social media post?

This.

This is what you get.

Today's quote from @mattsheridan.bsky.social I'll be stealing for later use:

"They've been being fed this shit for so long that now their only two options are either admitting they've been eating shit this entire time, or spending the rest of their lives pretending they love the taste of shit."

The failure of the โ€œblue no matter whoโ€ crowd to rally behind Mamdani really just lays the reality of that position bare, doesnโ€™t it?

A digital poster in the style of a World War II propaganda piece. Isolaed on a yellow background, a normal, squarish, 20-something guy with glasses is sitting working on a laptop. A ghostly figure of Hitler has his arm around the guy and is grinning and shaking a fist triumphantly looking at the laptop screen. On the lid of the laptop where an apple might otherwise be is an openAI logo, bright green, and dripping green ooze down the lid. Text on the poster, in combinations of sans-serif type and brush script reads:
Using Generative AI?
Youโ€™re prompting with Hitler!
GenAI is a Fascist Project!
Try using your brain instead
Donโ€™t surrender your creativity to the tech billionaireโ€™s control

I think the USAID cuts and anti-vaccine stuff gives Trump a higher body count, but the Bush guys internalized the idea that right wing media could insulate them from normal electoral accountability and the second Trump term is directly downstream from that.

A thing you're not seeing if you haven't checked Twitter in the last week is all the political betting markets (Polymarket, Kalshi) are actively caping for Cuomo and spreading Zohran conspiracies on there. Usually this would be a cause for some sort of regulatory oversight but that no longer exists.

Teen Vogue did some great journalism around immigration detention and enforcement. Sounds like corporate has now killed that off.

The media landscape shrinks even further.

They're apparently folding Teen Vogue into the regular Vogue, and they have to destroy what made Teen Vogue good lest it infect and improve regular Vogue.

Hey, new followers, if you like my comic work, check out my original GN TAKA. It's inspired by Tokusatsu Metal Heros, Megaman, and homages to the manga and anime I grew up with in the 90s! It's 250 pages of a punk girl with a mecha suit beating up robots!

I suspect console exclusives are just practical, effective business, for better or for worse. But we could have another interesting conversation about what a pain they can become for game preservation.

Ah, so we agree! Mostly. Which is honestly OK!

I could link to some articles and Yong Yea videos on the topic, which can get surprisingly complex, but you seem a respectable geek and I'm more casually conversing than arguing. Besides, I have some ADHD that keeps me ricocheting within discussions.

Yeah, but the data already says that strategy isn't going to work. The numbers just don't add up.

It might have worked had Microsoft not started recklessly cancelling games and shuttering studios, but like most businesses nowadays, they're focused on short term profit, not long term sustainability.

03.11.2025 03:52 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Game Pass could be like the subscription-based virtual console everyone wishes Nintendo would make, but instead, all news reports say Microsoft is burning it to fuel the AI machine.

I think that explains why people miss Xbox and console exclusives. They miss having a system that actually works.

After the AI bubble I hope the next bubble is Laser Tag. Laser tag arenas on every street corner. Blacklight lit battlefields propping up every sector of the economy. A one story building by the side of the highway called โ€œBlast Zone: Pizza & Arcadeโ€ valued at $2.7 trillion

Actually, wait, I forgot about Game Pass, the Netflix of games.

Xbox Game Pass is convenient, but unsustainable. When customers are trained to wait for Game Pass releases instead of buying games, studios lose a LOT of money, even when it's a new Call of Duty game. I think it's a house of cards.
