Using @github.com Copilot to throw something "quick and dirty" together is pretty nifty.

In 10 minutes, I built a Microsoft Edge extension that performs RegEx searches on the displayed webpage content. It's so much better than Ctrl+F search on a page!

I call it... REdgeEx. 😬

Also using a prompt injection attack at a key point of the story definitely tingles my security senses.

Please, for your sanity, spend some time setting up an RSS reader with sources you trust. Social media was never a good way to get the news, and it's only going to get worse.

I recommend Readwise, Inoreader, NetNewsWire, Reeder, and Feedly. I also use @flipboard.com as a supplementary algo feed.

Literally 2 days ago, some of us in the infosec community at Microsoft were commenting about how inapplicable that image is for security teams.

The “us vs. them” mentality exists for “security teams vs. threat actors”, and spans organizational and (to a good extent) company boundaries.

If you haven’t already read “Chip War”, that’s a great book too.

💡 Being a beacon of positivity in security is underrated.

⚖️ So much of our work is being the bearer of bad news (“You have N bugs!”), and a personality that spreads joy and positivity is a necessary counterweight to this.

I mentioned this in a performance review document to an engineer on my team.
