It’s crazy. This was on the door of my dentist on Tuesday. I can’t believe we are at this point when it was so avoidable.

No worries! It's been crazy busy all around, I think. Thanks for reminding me about Kim Thùy - I need to look for more of their writing (translated - the little French I understood at best has been displaced by Hindi and now I can't try to speak a sentence of French without a Hindi word sneaking in)

What a great ride in to work - I have a number of routes to choose from but this one is 85% off-road so even though I was riding at 8:00 AM in Canada's largest city, one car passed me. (Though my radar said 2 because somehow riding near high tension power lines creates "phantom" cars on the radar)

As I promised myself, I got on the bike after work after missing the morning ride. SO much more traffic than 5:30 AM but also much warmer too. Glad I got out.

The clouds last night were ridiculous. Not long after this came a downpour and even a little hail!

Either way it's kind of like the argument against single payer healthcare. "If we make it so everyone can use it then everyone will use it and we'll have supply issues!"

Or, you know, you could just address those issues.

We've been really addicted to The Traitors (UK mostly, some Australia and NZ, avoiding US) and lately I've been thinking its popularity aligns with current feelings about the world sociopolitical scene. Kind of like how 50s sci-fi was commenting on the times. Or pretty much any zombie series/film.

Whatever gets one over that first hill! For me, though, it's the opposite. They look so excited and happy that I expect to feel the same about it.

But it's worth noting that they're filming outside when even I am thrilled to be there - not from the couch 20 min before leaving.

So I missed this morning's ride and for accountability's sake I'm going to tell you that I'm going to climb that hill after work today.

The common #cycling post narrative this time of year seems to be how great it is to ride in the cold and wet late autumn weather and how they can't keep themselves indoors and I'm over here thinking the biggest hill I'll climb on a ride is between me and the front door.

Also I just noticed the pay phone. Not too many of those left here.

I like riding my bike almost all the time but this time of year it is SO hard to get out the door. Today I went out when I didn't want to, shared all my excuses and then checked to see how true they were as I rode. Apologies as I forgot to include captions. Still new to editing. #cycling

I'm hearing similar things. It's definitely not the place it was in the 80s. But then where is?

I have a love/hate relationship with that area. I grew up in a small town about 20 miles from Hanover and have some really great memories but also some pretty awful ones.

It is, however, 100% a weird place. From what I've heard it's getting weirder. (Haven't spent much time there since 1992)

This morning I definitely didn't want to go to work let alone bike. I still have a bit of a cold and had a headache most of the night. I'm glad I went, though. The ride was really pretty and despite the cold I stayed nice and warm. And surprisingly my headache improved. #cycling #biketo

Every time I learn more about Dodgers Stadium, it horrifies me further.
