I think even the visionaries like Roddenberry couldn’t have foreseen the current “AI” that we have today. In reality, Data truly is AI, compared to what we have, which is simply large language models making complex calculations (via dubious training) spitting out that which seems intelligent.

But of course it was never about lowering prices. How can the oligarchs make billions if the margins are so low?
