The two System Shock games. In my opinion, one of the greatest horror games of all time, followed up with THE greatest horror game of all time.

You should, it motivates people. I try to walk an hour a day on average, and while it's not strenuous it really helps me a lot.

I would recommend Alundra if possible. It felt like the PS1's answer to Link to the Past and was very well done.

I would also suggest Parasite Eve for a Halloween stream.

If you mean the watch streaks that are openly announced in chat, that's currently only available for some streamers but is supposedly getting rolled for everyone later this year.

That's why I admire Sekiro so much. It had enough differences to turn off some Soulslike fans, but also to be seen as a breath of fresh air and become influential in its own right. Nine Sols was inspired by Sekiro and proudly so.

Glad you're enjoying single-player FF! Hope you play the older ones someday.

I hope you enjoyed it, Tom. Took me a while to realize I liked it more than any other DR or Ace Attorney game. I love the cases, the cast is a RIOT, and Kokichi is in my top 10 game characters. I also adore the ending. Sorry that many don't love it, but I'll always get a kick from other's reactions.

Since folks are talking about their 2024 GOTY, I gotta say that mine is Nine Sols. Fantastic Sekiro-inspired combat, a brutal and often profound character-driven story, and a fascinating world blending Daoism and sci-fi horror.

Very easily my favorite Metroidvania. Hope more people check it out!

Honestly didn't expect Astro Bot to win GOTY, but having beaten the game myself, it's completely well-earned. It's a glorious return to the kind of games that Playstation used to make, and it's my favorite game of 2024 (that isn't called Nine Sols).

Jak 2. I love Jak 1 and I love GTA, but combining the two really felt off to me.

Fully expecting Rebirth will win GOTY, but it's great to see Astro Bot and Metaphor get recognition.

I only wish that Nine Sols would get a nomination in the Indie category, because that'll be my personal GOTY at this rate.

I'm sad to hear that's the case, but for me and my favorite game, it's the opposite. When I play FF9, I honestly find things to admire about it that I wasn't able to as a kid.

System Shock 1. Old-school controls baffled me at first, then I came back to it a year later, read the manual for 20 minutes, and went on to experience one of my favorite horror games.
