One thing that gives me hope is the utter incompetence of the people that surround Trump.

So, the accounts and insurance plans that go with them are not for everyone as the republicans like to sell them. They really are for relatively wealthy families that are healthy and want to save money to cover health expenses in retirement.

I have one and I treat it more as a retirement account than as an account for immediate medical expenses. I’m lucky in that my family is relatively healthy and we can absorb a $12k medical bill if we had to.

Yes. They actually are triple tax advantage accounts. Besides not paying income taxes on the money put in the accounts, taxes aren’t paid on the gains or withdrawals for medical expenses.
