Quilts and cats of calico is also somewhat of a puzzle type game. But it's a digital version of a table top game.

Robinson's alchemy is a "mix two elements together to get new stuff out of it" puzzle game!

Preserve and Growth are two other kinds of puzzle type games where you need to make biomes and stuff by placing tiles N stuff.

A shelter full of cats is a search and find type of game, but the money from the sale finances shelters and adoptions for disabled cats.

The Talos Principle 1 & 2 is mostly a game about philosophy and solving puzzles.

The Ace Attorney games are amazing at investigation and puzzle solving.

I wasn't authorized to watch these movies because of that war aspect. The depiction of suffering and death would've been bad for my poor little 10 yo brain. Especially considering that I had recurrent nightmares about volcanoes because of the movie Volcano(1997) that I saw around that age lol

That had been bothering me for a while at that point. But I'm so glad I remembered that part. That single scene gave me so much freaking ideas for what I was writing at that time.

But yeah, I think the sadness and violence of that one scene is what marked me the most.

About 5-7 years after I asked my brother what movie it was because I got flashbacks of that scene at some point for no reason. He didn't remember at the time, but a few months after, I watched the movie and squealed when that scene happened because it was so vivid in my memory lol

So about that movie... I remembered my brother watching it when I was a kid. The only scene I remembered, because I stumbled upon the living room, was the god getting his neck shot and his paws sinking in the water.

We have about a decade age difference hence why he could watch it and not me.

This is an *excellent* piece about how systemic accessibility failures happen and what we can all do to stop them from happening as often, to which I would add:

You think your art is amateur, your prose awkward, your dialogue stilted. Your lines scratchy, your colors weak.

I don't. Because I don't know the difference. All your mistakes are purposeful style choices to me. All your weaknesses quirks of your personality.

I love your art.

Often QA testers are given a version of the game that is hard because of bugs, but they almost never end up touching a more polished version. It is VERY HARD to QA test balance in a game unless you have a team dedicated to it. So end Users are the ones that end up having to QA test that.

QA testing as an actual day job is gruelling and can kill games for you. I did it for 3 years and oh boy was it something. Everyone is also more concentrated on fixing and finding bugs and errors in text than the balancing of the game.

Dev often don't know how to scale up the difficulty of their own games because they're just with the game all the time. And a lot of QA testers are hardcore gamer if they're full time or teenagers or people that do it just for fun.

Because that is one of the issues I have with certain difficulty modes for games. I often end up being frustrated in normal and then turn on easy to just... Not have any challenges at all.

What I particularly love with the Hades God mode is that you still have to work for it a bit before it's actually *close* to a God mode so it scales with you and makes the game still rewarding in the end and you struggle a bit less.

You can change the DPI of the original CSP file without touching the quality of the art or its size so you can print it afterwards. You can also do that with the PNG/JPEG too!
