I woke up a year ago 100% certain that I had to make a documentary about the Winston Salem chapter of the Black Panther Party. So I did.

I've been freelance writing for magazines in my spare time for almost 20 years now and this summer is the toughest I've ever seen it out there. Can't imagine what it's like for full-time freelancers.

Excellent reporting and storytelling here. I visit that Silverspot frequently and I'm shocked they didn't have a disaster response/communication plan. Glad their customers took care of each other, at least.
