Indivisible: A Practical Guide to Democracy on the Brink If there's one universally accepted truth in the modern age, it's that sequels suck. And Trump 2.0 will be no exception. Trump, Vance, and their MAGA minions feel vindicated by the victory of their bi...

I honestly don't get this point of view. Who cares who makes more? If the family is better off and you're happier, take the promotion!

I do some consulting on the side, and a fun bit of a recent project was to use pyparsing in Python to evaluate an algebraic expression that could include dice and variables. So 2+3d6-sin(foo^2) would be valid. #python #consulting

I'm having trouble finding folks interested in niche roleplaying games here in Blue Sky land. Anyone else here into games like Solipsist, Time & Temp, Risus?

But for experienced coders who know what they're going for, it's a great time-saver if you're willing to wade through slapping its hand and correcting it as you go.

I wouldn't recommend it for students who are trying to learn good techniques, since you'd need to do a lot of rewriting to get its code to use good techniques, and you'd lose out on the actual coding practice that makes you a better programmer.

Windsurf Editor by Codeium Tomorrow's editor, today. Windsurf Editor is the first AI agent-powered IDE that keeps developers in the flow. Available today on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

I've been playing with the Windsurf IDE lately. It's an AI powered IDE.

It's great at broad strokes, terrible at good architecture, not so great at details. Generally what it creates doesn't run right away, and you have to know enough to tell it what to fix.

Here's the podcast it generated for one of my favorite, odd, indie games, Solipsist: files.jayshaffstall.com/games/Solpis...

I'm sure I'm late to this, but I just discovered notebooklm.google.com . You feed it a PDF of something and it'll then use an AI to answer questions about it. It's got a cool podcast generator where two AI folks talk about the content. Great for roleplaying game rules!

I ran a game of Risus last night, the first roleplaying I'd gotten in for a few years. I ran a Call of Cthulhu-esque time loop scenario where PCs lived the same Monday over and over until they worked out how to break the loop. Lots of fun!

I'm a software developer, an educator, a roleplayer whose D&D days are long behind him and tends more toward Call of Cthulhu and indie games these days. I'm a father, I write occasionally, I love theater style LARPs, and have been known to act in community theater plays.
