While the federal government seeks to mass deport our neighbors, legislative leaders and Gov. Walz have struck a deal to end state health coverage for undocumented adults.

This is capitulation, at a time when state and local support for people at risk from the Trump Administration is most crucial.

With President Trump and Elon Musk’s onslaught against the federal government, the Democratic Party establishment is failing to fill the role of an opposition party. We know we must build beyond the status quo to withstand the catastrophic actions at the federal level.

The city of Minneapolis produced this map during a recent presentation about the fate of the garbage burner. I took a moment, laid the map over I-94 and had a light bulb moment. Then I shouted "wait, hold on guys I found the source of the cancer!" But nobody listens.

No mention of people living within poisoning distance of 94, higher asthma rates, lifespans cut short.

Additionally, while the first (inaccurate) statement from Melissa Barnes is at least in quotes, the second paragraph simply repeats @mndot.bsky.social's talking points as if they are fact.

I have great respect for
Andrew Hazzard at @sahanjournal.bsky.social, esp. for his great coverage of the Smith Foundry and Roof Depot, which is why I'm disappointed in this piece. There's no mention of the 100+ people who testified today, who overwhelmingly favored keeping the at-grade boulevard.

The informed and impassioned community testimony at today's #RethinkingI94 meeting is inspiring and tragic. People point to LA fires and the climate, about their children being poisoned just by living where they do, & about being lied to and being stripped of their agency by @mndot.bsky.social.
