Yeah, at this rate I'll be riding my KLR forever. It's got over 100,000km on it, about half of it mine, and it's so cheap to just keep running that it'll probably get 100k more :P Hopefully the gen3 engine mounting points are unchanged and enough people crash those to make those engines cheap ;3

If I ever get another bike that isn't a KLR I'm going to be in for massive sticker shock when I need to get any part. Too used to buying used parts super cheap.

From what I hear, 家内is considered out of date for that reason :P there are a lot of individual kanji that feel similarly out-dated (to put it lightly) like 嫁 which is bride, and looks like 女 and 家 put together lol.

"heavy" is relative, haha. They're lighter than a lot of ADV bikes :P But yeah, cheap, kinda rubbish, but good enough for sure :P

Disclaimer, 海猫 is usually written in カタカナ, like many species names seem to be.

「馬鹿」is hilarious though, don't tell the hooved furries. Ateji words in general are always such a journey haha. I like 「兎に角」because I like to imagine people are saying "anyhow, rabbit angle" :P

On the other hand some combos that seem almost ridiculously direct stick in my mind too, like 「貧民街」for slums :P

That's a new one to me! Actually, I don't think I have any words in my flashcards with the kanji 「皮」yet :3 Sometimes I find that the silliest 漢字 compounds seem to stick in my mind better. Like 「海猫」which I don't even have a flash card for but never forgot :3
